It’s that time again, folks! Today I have for you the most amazing indulgent Hot Chocolate I have ever drank in my entire life… legit.
The gooey goodness consists of;
- 20g Dark Chocolate
- 2 Tablespoon of powdered sugar (again they don’t sell that in Budapest, so we used brown sugar because why not – 1 Tablespoon)
- 120ml heavy cream (we used whipping cream because apparently we love to break the rules)
- 350ml whole milk
AND THIS IS HOW WE DID IT
Chop the chocolate. This is super satisfying as it splinters off and makes the most beautiful sound. I hope there’s an Instagram account out there of people just chopping chocolate, let me know if there is and if not I will definitely start one myself.
Next up we need to get the whipping cream, the milk and the sugar in a pan on a medium heat.
Mix together until hot. Some small bubbles will begin to appear and the mixture will steam. Do not let this boil.
With the remainder of the whipping cream, make some to garnish the top of the hot chocolate once finished! It’s best to start this now as it can take a while.
When the cream starts to steam, reduce the heat to a low setting and add in the chocolate. Stir until completely melted.
Now it’s time to serve!
With that whipped cream, serve a spoonful on top of each mug, this is optional but v highly recommended 🙂
Again this is optional, but sprinkle some chocolate and enjoy… it’s super thick and you will most likely burn your tongue from not being patient enough like me… it was totally worth it, so don’t feel too bad about it.
LOOK AT HOW SUPER DELICIOUS THIS LOOKS.
Let me know if you make it and if you have any other recommendations! Anything chocolate would be great… I am definitely going to make this again and add a tipple of Baileys into it…
