Good morning all! Hope you all had the loveliest of weekends and that you brunched away the mornings and got some well needed relaxation in before Monday crept its way back on you all! It definitely took me by surprise after having the most wonderful weekend in a long time.
Especially after the boat load of hiccups I had come my way during the week, I thought I was cursed with bad luck forever! For those of you who don’t know, last week was partially documented over on my Instagram and a lot of things went wrong. Whether it was broken wine glasses, exploding hot water bottles, being paid late and then of course, the dreaded migraine attack that puts you out for 2 whole days and interrupting your work routine. It was one of the worst weeks of 2018 so far.
Moaning aside… it’s a fresh new week and Monday is giving me all the motivation I need.
Monday’s are always so bittersweet, I love spending the entire weekend with my other half, and when we have to go back to work it’s not fun at all! However, they’re my most productive day of the week because I get all of my work done and feel on top of everything. I see everything with fresh eyes and feel the most motivated I ever have.
Does anyone else get that feeling in a morning when they’re getting dressed, and no matter what you put on, nothing ever looks right?! No matter what you keep changing into, you never really feel satisfied? I get that ALL the time, then when I throw the most simple of outfits on, I feel bloody fantastic and super confident that day.
Basically, it’s all about the basics.
I threw this outfit on after a quick decision to go for a walk along the river, the weather was GORGEOUS and we had to get out in it after a day of working. The perfect end to our Sunday and it was lovely to see the sun set along the Danube. I wanted to wear something comfy, that I could walk in for a long time, but also something chill, as Sundays are made for chill. If I could have gone out in my PJ’s I would have done, trust me.
What is more casual than double denim? The 90’s flashback and the trend that has caused controversy for years on end and no doubt, years to come. Do you wear double denim? Do you hate double denim?
I love it and I feel so comfortable in this look.
Starting with a classic stripe t-shirt that can be dressed up or downed worn with pretty much anything. An a-line skirt, leather trousers, denim jeans, under dungarees, literally anything! I love them and they’re a basic everyone needs and probably has multiple of in their wardrobe!
Thrown over the top of the tee, is an over-sized denim shirt. Doubling as a jacket adds more laid back vibes to this look. Unbuttoned, like a jacket gives this outfit the ideal 90s mum vibe and is oh so comfy!
What else would make a 90’s mum look? A pair of mum jeans of course. Bringing in our second piece of denim, jeans are newly introduced into my wardrobe again recently. I hadn’t had a pair of jeans for over a year as I pretty much lived in joggers and leggings, so buying two pairs in the Black Friday sale last year really brought a new lease of life to my wardrobe. These are a little long, but I love that as I can roll up the bottoms, adding a little extra detail to my look.
The accessories are what really make this outfit that little bit more me. I always wear a Baker Boy Cap pretty much wherever I go, and when it’s the height of Summer, I am not sure what I’m going to do because it’s not a good luck when underneath i’m sweating and my hair becomes a huge train wreck haha! If anyone has any alternative for a summer hat I’d love to know?! My handbag was picked up from a market stall in London around 7 years ago, it’s lasted so well and the leather makes it look like brand new.
The white mules were actually a lucky one-off purchase. I went into Primark and saw that they were on sale for £2!!! I wish I got more than one pair as they are SO comfortable and are never off my feet. Of course with them being Primark, I know they’re not gonna last very long but I’m gonna wear them until their last days. The look way more expensive than they were, and add a chic element to what would be a simple look.
